I can offer the teachings, trainings, knowledge, and creativity in service of your best life, for the benefit of both self and other. You can leave each session knowing that you are seen in your deepest goodness, and you have what it takes to get through it AND to carry on with love and equanimity.
Counseling Approaches
Expressive Arts Therapy is my core discipline. This means that my practice is based in Creativity, Attunement, Imagination, and the Embodiment of what makes us connected and compassionate human beings. It also means that I do not see my clients as being objects that need to be fixed in some way, as some medical mental health models seem to do. I see *You* as being a person whose journey in this challenging culture and world needs support in finding your unique and amazing way of Being in this world. It means I see our relationship as one that can get you on the best possible path to fully living.
Buddhist Background
As a lifelong practitioner and student of Buddhism, I am constantly striving to balance compassion and wisdom in my online counseling in order to best serve others. I am informed by the view that we experience suffering, there are causes and ends to suffering, and there are paths whose methods can deeply help us in our journey through this challenging life. Within the counseling journey, it is so important to identify habits and patterns that can be addressed and worked with. To break negative patterns and become more present and loving for ourselves and for others becomes a driving force in practice.
